Painting 1

The first task that I was given this morning was to paint out the feeling of the sounds that in the studio. So based on the study and experiment, I decided to use Cy Twombly's technical mark-making to create this sense of feeling. But at the same time, I want it to have a sense of "me" in my painting. Also, in my idea of sounds, it should have a similar structure with smoke.

So this basic idea has been based, I begin to create my paintings, not like Cy Twombly's work my work is more structured than Cy Twombly's paintings. His work's structure is more based on random handwriting and letters. Instead, using handwriting as the base of the movement, I use this almost like suprematism art structure to create my paintings. During the creation, every time I hear the high key sound of the crow in the studio, I will aggressively draw the central structure. Which tell the audience this structure is the main character in the whole painting. To give the image a noisy bounce I poured the ink onto a piece of plastic and splashed the ink hard on top of my main sturcture. Then I used ink To give the idea of smoke like an image. I simply use white charcoal to build another structure on top of black charcoal.

To help the image to have more of "me" in it. I put down the mark-making that Cy Twombly used in his serial of works called "Bolsna Series" on the left side of the painting near the central level of my structure. Which give the whole painting a visual of the face. And the mark-making become the "ear" of my "face". At the same time, it shouts out the idea of sounds and identity.
