Reflections & Practice Experiment

During the project 'Tokens', the problem I had was the depth of the painting. David pointed out that my colour palette and composition contributed to this problem.
David pointed out that my colour scheme and composition were causing the problems and that the overuse of RGB colours had left me with a lack of directional light (Luminosity). David suggested that I use oil pastels to practice painting more than just outlining. This practice would allow me to work with colour and composition. After I talked to David and Laurence, I started to use the oil pastel to work on the colour and structure of my images before painting.
As a result, I have abandoned acrylics, watercolours or ink pencils for my choice of paint.
Later in the project, I chose water-mixable oil paint for my research and painting. Using water-mixable oil paint is because when I use a stiff primer brush to paint, the oil paint can form a soft edge shape. And this smooth edge is a great way to create the composition. And also because it allowed me to maintain my previous acrylic and watercolour painting practice on top of the oil paint.

I used oil paint because it allowed me to maintain my previous acrylic and watercolour painting style on top of my oil painting. Then the Primer Brush solve the lack of Luminosity on the painting's dark side.

Compositionally I looked at the game called 'Cyberpunk2077' for a lot of structure and Texture to help me enrich my drawings.
To help enrich the graphics. It allowed me to achieve a better description of the concept of my project. I used 'chains, pipes, buildings, ladders'.
I used the key elements of 'chains, pipes, buildings, ladders' to construct Man-made structures in the picture.
I got this idea from the highly developed Biotech in Cyberpunk 2077. All human body parts can be enhanced or replaced with artificial BIOTECH.
I then used Rattan from the rainforest to link the chains with hue colours in the image to manipulate the shapes and distort reality. Rattan blends the edge between artificial and Nature. Like Consumerism blends the edge of definition and concepts.
