David Hockney

David Hockney's painting gives me a different prospect of using canvas shape to reach the 180 degrees view. David uses colour in a particular way to create a sense of depth within his painting. He uses light sky blue as the floor colour and dark sea blue to cover the ceiling's colour and apply with lines to create 180 degrees view.

Cadmium Yellow floor room suggests Balcony. Light Phthalo green grass gives the picture luminosity and depth.

Per kirkeby--Micheal Werner Gallery Visit

After talking to Laurence, I went to the Micheal Werner Gallery, Per Kirkeby's Exhibition.

I have made sketches based on his painting 'Geological Messages', 'Untitled 1981' and a few other paintings. I was trying to pick up different elements and object that Kirkeby hides in the image. Also, I attempt to recreate the landscape that Kirkeby present in 'Geological Messages'.

I also really enjoy the way he uses the brushstroke and vertical mark-making plus the background colour to create a sense of dimension in the painting. Both of these technics strongly suggest Geometrical information.
